Old News

A portrait of my friend from a photoshoot that I did a year ago. It never made it up on my old account for some reason.

Life ATM

Mon Nov 23, 2009, 7:13 PM
Life has had way too many ups and downs lately. WAY too many.

It's all good now though :)

:bulletred::bulletorange::bulletyellow::bulletgreen::bulletblue::bulletpurple:

I figured I'd get in the thanksgiving spirit and list thing that I'm thankful for and why. Because, you know, I've never actually been in the "Thanksgiving spirit" before.

1) My brother: He's the reason I was able to move out. He got me into WoW and doesn't mind sharing his friend with me and taking me places and hanging out. Also, is pretty damn funny.

2) Duct Tape: My duct tape wallet is over a year old. Still in great shape, and still gets comments from strangers about how cool it is. Fixes my old shoes, used to hold my old school bags together, and can make pretty much anything.

3) Safety Pins: What duct tape can't fix (using practicality, at least) a safety pin can. Holds OTHER parts of my shoes together, the sleeve of my shirt, the crotches of numerous pairs of pants over the years and some of my underwear (which are all newish, but poor quality... the pins add a 'punk' look to them that I really like though :) )

4) love: Makes my fucking world sit straight while turning it all around at the same time. Makes the happiest and saddest moments of my life all come together. :heart:

5) Rob Zombie and Amanda Palmer: seriously. life would not be worth living without them and their music. Amanda has gotten me through more things in my life than I can even remember. Rob Zombie keeps my mind dark, twisted and filled with lovely grunge thought. They make me who I am.

6) World of Warcraft: Has caused me to make a ton of real life friends. Literally I would not know a half of the people I know in real life had my brother not gotten me into that game :)

7) eBay: because 90% of the time I'm asked where I got something really cool, it's from eBay, and didn't cost me and arm and a leg.

:bulletred::bulletorange::bulletyellow::bulletgreen::bulletblue::bulletpurple:

I got myself a new camera on eBay. I'm getting back into the film cameras. :) It's a Lomography action sampler. Got 4 shutters, and came with 10 rolls of 35mm film. Hopefully it gets here soon and I can show it off. I'm psyched. If it works out well, I'll be getting other multi-shutter cameras in the future.

I'm also getting back into dread fall making. I'm working on saving up the money to get a travel steamer, so I don't butcher my $80 flat iron and soak the floor (cuz... the steamer is $50 and DOESN'T require me to use a wet towel.) Once I get a full set made, which won't be as hard as last time since I'll have proper equipment and more space, I'll post some pictures. I'm thinking about just making a full set of transnationals and candy stripes. Black and white, to match everything.

Saw Rob Zombie at the Murat last week. Ties for best concert of my life. If it weren't at a seated venue, and I was capable of moshing, it would have blown the Offspring out of the water. Fucking Murat Theater :shakefist: even Mr. Zombie was uber pissed. AAAAAND I've been made into a Nekromantix fan, thanks to their brilliant opening performance. :heart: psychobilly.

I, like everyone else in the world, love photography. I prefer to do portraits, but I I'll shoot anything that moves if it looks interesting to me. For every hundred pictures I take, I usually only feel that one or 2 are really special.

I'm formerly ~MJstoner and I have a TON more work there than here.

I have no real goals or aspirations in life. I just want to live life and be happy. Some say I take the path of least resistance by skipping out on college (for a few years at least) but we should all be well aware that I chose the much harder course in the long run...

I like tattoos, piercings, gauged ears and dyed hair. Amanda Palmer inspires me to keep on moving. Michelle inspires me to keep trying to make art.

I feel mostly complete.

Chloroform girl how have you been
Don't let me catch you sleeping again
You're only alive because I like you
It's been three years since you've seen the sunlight
But I know you're having fun
Bound, gagged and chained up in my basement
